Employee Spotlight: Kunal Zalani – A strategic thinker in a dynamic environment

When Kunal Zalani joined Optima Global Solutions earlier this year, he sought an opportunity to learn, expand, and grow. Now, six months later, as an Associate, Kunal has gained valuable insights into the corporate landscape and has connected his education in physics to his work, allowing him to quickly adapt and apply his analytical skills to find effective solutions.

“I’ve been working here for nearly 6 months, and in that time, I’ve been learning a lot about the corporate environment, ranging from networking to basic business analysis and beyond,” said Kunal Zalani, Associate with Optima Global Solutions. “Being a Physics graduate, this has been a very different environment for me, but I’ve been able to adapt quickly.”

When he stepped into the Associate role, Kunal had little to no experience in how corporations’ function, which has presented one of his biggest challenges. However, with the support and encouragement of Optima’s leadership, he has had opportunities for networking and learning about key business challenges. This exposure has helped him understand and tackle significant challenges in selling to businesses, especially amid uncertainties related to expanding teams and growing opportunities. “The most important thing is that I don’t feel afraid to ask questions or make mistakes,” Kunal noted. “Every experience is an opportunity to learn and improve.”

Outside of Optima, Kunal enjoys cooking, and is always on the lookout for new recipes, as well as developing some of his own, including chicken curry dishes and hearty vegetable soups. He’s also loves to dance, which is very important to him.

“I’m also an avid dancer, specifically dancing Lindy Hop (sometimes called East Coast Swing). Dancing is something that’s been important to me as both a social event and a good source of exercise,” said Kunal. “There’s nothing quite like de-stressing to some good old-fashioned jazz.”

With his unique skillset, Kunal continues to look to the future and wants to take the skills he has learned and will continue to learn during his time at Optima, and use those skills to achieve success in the future. In addition, he is also working his way up towards a graduate program in Food Science, but he is also keeping his options open. “Ultimately, I want to take the skills I’ve learned and will continue to learn during my time at Optima to achieve success in everything that I do in the future, wherever that future takes me,” said Kunal.
